About Us
Future Penn College Students and Parents,
College South Apartments provides Penn College Students relaxed, rural and safe locations to rent. Many students don't currently live in a town or suburban environment and the transition to 'city' life can be challenging. Most of the students who rent from us come from more rural areas and find the rural apartments that we have fit their life style. College can be stressful enough, why compound it with an overstimulating living environment?
We have been renting to Penn College students for over 20 years. College South Apartments is the only approved Off Campus Housing provider close to the Earth Science Center Campus. Almost all of the students who rent from us have a major in the Natural Resources. We also have students living with us who have majors on Main Campus but prefer the rural living atmosphere to living in town. The Off Campus Housing Office of Penn College recommends College South Apartments to those students attending the Earth Science Campus.
We are not a large volume rental company. We have two apartment sites and house approximately 15 students. We live on the property of one of the rentals and are within five minutes of the other property. We are often at the properties and within a short time get to know all the students who rent from us. Once students move into our properties they normally stay til they graduate, staying for one, two or three years. As an incentive for you to have your student stay with us for their entire college experience we will reduce the rent that you pay by $100 for each successive year that they stay with us. At least you will know that one cost will actually go down as your student progresses through Penn College, likely the only cost.
Call or email us so we can set up a convenient time to show you housing for your son or daughter for the upcoming school year.
Good luck on your future academic pursuits at Penn College!

"The year and a half I spent living with College South Apartments was some of the best times I had in my life. It gives you the opportunity to get away from campus and live on your own while still being 10 minutes away from Main Campus. I met and lived with 5 guys which we gained a friendship that will last a lifetime. The Apartments give you everything that you need on a day to day basis. The kitchen is great, the bathroom is great, and the living quarters period are great. I recommend College South Apartments to anyone looking to get off campus housing." - Cody Remaley
"I can’t really say enough good things about College South Apartments, but I can point out a few things that made renting from them completely change the college experience. I started my college career in 2013 and began living at The White Deer motel my first semester. It was nice to be able to meet new people but also have a room to yourself, (unlike on campus). And the fire pit and big yard really helped bring everyone together like a small family. My second year I moved to Willow Lane where I met another great group of people. The nice thing about this move was having an actual apartment with a full kitchen and living room. The neighbors were very kind to us too and even invited us over for dinner on multiple occasions. Then my last year I moved to the Cabin which was of course my favorite of them all. I enjoyed living at all of the apartments, but with a pond (yes it has fish in it), river lot, and all the land you could want, this is every outdoor lover’s dream college house. All of the apartments have their own fire pit which is really a necessity after you get used to having one. And the landlord Charlie is the best landlord you could hope for. He is very easy going and usually has small jobs for the students to do to help out with expenses. And since I can go on all day and talk about how much I enjoyed my time with College South Apartments, I’ll just wrap it up by saying living there has left me with memories and friendships I wouldn’t trade for anything." - Alex Swan

"College South apartments are a great alternative to living in Williamsport for those students preferring a more rural setting. Charlie is very helpful to students and parents and has been a good resource in making college transition easier. As a local resident he is familiar with the community and can offer suggestions. Overall positive experience from a parent's perspective. He takes the time to get to know the students and I appreciate his availability and willingness to help whether it be arranging a car to be towed or offering a reduced rate for parents at his local motel." - Lisa Craft
"Finding your apartment was great for our son. Since the majority of his classes are at the Earth Science Center the proximity of the apartment, five minutes away, was very convenient. Billy was able to get breakfast and lunch ar ESC and eat on campus as well. The apartment was large enough to accomodate a bed, couch and chair. The internet connection worked well. It also had a large bathroom. You even generously allowed Billy to use the washer and dryer downstairs. Billy was very grateful that you allwed him to bring his pet. We think this helped him adjust to being away from home. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation of you going to look for our son at 1000 on a Friday night. Being three hours away this was very helpful when we could not get ahold of him. We will definitely rent an apartment next year." - Bill and Judy Bechtold
